Entrevista de mi libro The city of love en español:

Interview with Arianna García Di Zio for her book The city of love in English

Arianna García Di Zio is a very young writer, originally from Venezuela, who at age 19 moved to Barcelona, Spain, where she began studying fashion marketing and communication. Today he tells us what is behind his novel, "The City of Love", published with the Editorial Group Europe in July 2019.

¿What led you to write a novel at the age of 15?

It all starts when I was inside a Twitter club of Justin Bieber fans and the girls decided to upload chapters of love stories with Justin; Two or three chapters went up, no more, and it came to my mind, why don't I write a novel? But long and private? That is, only for me without anyone knowing? I thought, but What do I do it from? Easy, something that has to do with Paris, since my dream was to go to this city at that time. I didn't know her but I had always dreamed of that city. I sat down with my home computer and started writing without thinking about anything else, I was getting ideas, the best of all is that in my country Venezuela, at that time, we did not have classes for a month for a flu, which that took me to get up every morning at seven, play relaxing music and not stop writing; And without realizing it, the novel was over, I couldn't believe it, I managed to finish a book.

¿Why did you choose to set your story in Paris precisely? What connects you to this city?

I have loved fashion and cinema all my life. I have seen many incredible movies and series set in that city. I will never forget when I saw one of my favorite movies, Eloise At The Plaza. When I was about eight years old or less, she made me love Paris and New York. In the movie a girl says, "I dream of traveling to Paris and writing poetry in a cafe, Vivre la vie "That phrase stuck in my mind all my life.

¿In your book love and friendship are protagonists. How do you weigh them in your personal life?

The truth: the book has a lot to do with my life, but at the same time nothing to do. Gabrielle, the protagonist, is very similar to me in her personality, but also very different, she is strong and somewhat conceited, arrogant and very confident in herself. Instead, I consider myself a more reserved, relaxed and more tolerant girl.

¿Do you think that in recent years the way of dealing with interpersonal relationships has changed? Do you like how new generations (of which, of course, you are also part) approach the world of feelings?

Well, the truth: I think that today with social networks, nobody gets so close anymore, people are no longer struggling or so detailed, although it cannot be generalized, since everyone is different and we will always find special people in the path.

¿Did you get inspired by a particular book or author to write this novel?

Since I was a child I liked reading a lot, but I was a lover of fiction novels like Harry Potter, the Wizard of Oz, among others, I never liked love novels, they bored me, I think I was inspired by the cinema, my favorites movies and Tv shows, like Sex and the city, Gossip Girl, there are many things about those series and movies in my book, a lot of luxury, nice surroundings, drama, fun and much more.

¿Do you plan to write other works in your future?

I already wrote the continuations of this novel, it is a trilogy and it is finished! And in the future, of course I hope to continue writing different stories. It relaxes me a lot.
